Some Houston Galleries
- Houston's own Contemporary Arts Museum
- Museum o' Fine Arts Houston
- The Dominique de Menil Collection
- Diverse Works - Once (1987 or '88) hosted an exhibit of acid blotter art curated by Mark McCloud, an irrepressible prankster profiled in ReSearch's "Pranks." Though the blotters were acid-free and therefore legal, there was plenty of high-grade real acid floating around that night. Cops tipped off to the event never got close to it. Once dosed, a number of patrons drove to the opening of Proteus, a potentially cool club hobbled by a crappy playlist, and terrorized the patrons just by being there, until the club owner gave us some free beers (remarkably understanding in retrospect) and we left.
